2010 Marty Awards The Marty Awards honour the artistic achievement of the city's established artists while encouraging and supporting emerging artistic talent. Produced by the Mississauga Arts Council, the 16th annual Marty Awards will be held at the Living Arts Centre for an evening of entertainment, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Formerly known as the Mississauga Arts Awards, the event will be hosted by Mississauga's own Jake Dheer. High profile nominees, including internationally celebrated filmmaker Richie Mehta, rock band illScarlett, sci-fi writing superstar Robert J. Sawyer and dancer Austin Di Iulio from So You Think You Can Dance Canada will compete for the awards. Past Marty and Smooth Jazz Award winning guitarist Rob Tardik will perform alongside saxophonist Carson Freeman, also a recent Smooth Jazz Award Winner. Other notable nominees include renowned rocker Sebastian Grainger from Death From Above 1979, actor A. J. Saudin from Degrassi The New Generation and many more!
