Lorne Park Library Presents Nepal's Wild West: (/+) A Slide Presentation on the Dolpo and Mustang Region. Home of the elusive snow leopard and a flourishing medieval Tibetan culture, Dolpo is a wild and magical land hidden behind the Himalaya and inaccessible for much of the year. The neighbouring Kingdom of Mustang offers traditional Tibetan culture set against a backdrop of stunning high-altitude desert scenery. The evening's presentation will provide an in-depth look at the landscapes, mountains, people, cultures, monasteries and wildlife of these fascinating and infrequently visited regions. The show will be presented by Chris Beall, a freelance photographer, writer, lecturer and Himalayan mountain guide with more than 20 years' experience in Nepal. Although Chris is a resident of Stayner Ontario, he spends most of the year travelling and photographing overseas. His photos and articles have been published in books, magazines and newspapers around the world, including National Geographic, Time Magazine, BBC Publications, the Globe and Mail, and Lonely Planet Publications. Tickets $10. Please phone 905 615-4845 for more information.
