In a year when democracy is on the ballot around the world, will young people save it or doom it? Voters 30 years old and younger take centre stage as voices in the electorate battle over who gets to speak for "the people," amid populist movements across the political spectrum and charismatic leaders seeking the right to govern. Will Canadian youth take up trends away from liberal democratic norms, push for reforms to improve Canadian democracy, or will apathy leave it to chance. TVO Today Live host Steve Paikin (The Agenda with Steve Paikin),will hear from young civic leaders about what they see in the future of democracy, and whether, as Winston Churchill once put it, it is still the worst system except for all the others. TVO Today Live is an event series on the future of democracy made possible through the support of The Wilson Foundation, whose mission is to strengthen and enrich Canada in education leadership, community, history and heritage, and public service. TVO Today Live is a live-taped event, please make sure to arrive by 4:55 pm. Late entries will not be permitted. Tickets must be ordered.
