Mehfil-e-Hyderabad, 2nd Annual Dinner and Cultural Program

Mehfil-e-Hyderabad, 2nd Annual Dinner and Cultural Program Mehfil-e-Hyderabad, the premiere event of Hyderabadis in Canada, will be held on Saturday, June 19th, 2010, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Versailles Convention Centre in Mississauga. The annual dinner and cultural program is being organized by the Hyderabad Deccan Foundation of Canada and will feature live performances by prominent artists from Canada and the USA. Javid Raza, the singing sensation from Connecticut USA , Naqi Bilgrami, the versatile artist from Toronto, the famous Avengers Group led by Nadeem Ali, and various other artists will perform at the event. It will also feature presentations and skits highlighting the unique culture of Hyderabad. Outstanding Canadians of Hyderabadi origin will be honored for their achievements at the event. The Hyderabad Deccan Foundation of Canada, a registered organization in the province of Ontario, was formed in 2009. Its goal is to promote the unique arts, culture, and language of Hyderabad in Canada. Towards this end it has proposed to build a Hyderabad Community Centre, which once built, it will be the first of its kind outside of the Indian subcontinent.
